Job Description

SAP SCM Consultant, MM and AMS
Chicago, IL- Hynrid (3 days onsite)
Long term contract
Role Summary
We need an experienced SAP SCM Consultant, with a core focus on Materials Management (MM), to support the client’s SAP landscape under an Application Management Services (AMS) model. You will resolve incidents, handle service requests, deliver small enhancements and keep supply chain processes running smoothly. You will work with business users and cross-functional SAP teams to meet agreed SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide L2/L3 support for SAP MM and related supply chain processes, covering incidents, service requests, problem tickets and change requests.
  • Monitor and resolve tickets within agreed SLAs, with root-cause analysis and permanent fixes for recurring issues.
  • Support procurement and inventory processes: purchase requisitions and orders, scheduling agreements, goods receipt, invoice verification, inventory management, MRP and physical inventory.
  • Configure and enhance MM and integrated modules (IM, QM, SD, FI) in response to business requirements.
  • Write functional specifications for enhancements, and work with ABAP developers on RICEFW objects.
  • Run unit, integration and regression testing, and support UAT and releases.
  • Troubleshoot EDI and interface issues (IDoc, ALE, web services) with 3PLs, suppliers and non-SAP systems.
  • Manage tickets and changes through the ticketing tool (ServiceNow/Jira) and SAP ChaRM, following transport and release governance.
  • Maintain knowledge base articles, runbooks and support documentation.
  • Prepare periodic AMS reports on ticket volumes, SLA compliance and trends, and suggest process improvements.
  • Coordinate with onshore and offshore teams, and cover time zones or on-call rotations as needed.
Required Skills
  • 8+ years of hands-on SAP MM experience across ECC and S/4HANA.
  • Deep knowledge of P2P, inventory management, MRP, pricing procedures, release strategies, batch and serial number management, and subcontracting.
  • Solid AMS or production support experience, including SLA-driven ticket handling and incident and problem management.
  • Experience with MM integration to SD, FI/CO, QM, PP and WM/EWM.
  • Experience with EDI and interface troubleshooting.
  • Ability to write clear functional specs and debug standard SAP processes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with global teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Basic or working knowledge of EWM or WM.
  • Exposure to SAP IBP or PP/DS.
  • Experience with S/4HANA Fiori apps and basic ABAP debugging.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical supplies or distribution.
  • SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement certification.
  • ITIL foundation knowledge.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain or an equivalent field.
