Job DescriptionDescription\n\nSummary:\nManages the nursing services and staff for a department; ensures quality and full compliance with relevant policies and standards.\nResponsibilities:\n• Implementing and monitoring programs and practices for the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care for patients and their families\n • Ensuring consistent application of nursing services policies and standards throughout the organization\n • Monitoring patient outcomes and quality and effectiveness of nursing care\n • Overseeing performance of teams; identifying and addressing staff training and development needs\n • Apprising medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies\n Standard I: Financial Management\n • Recognizes the impact of reimbursement on revenue\n • Understands the relationship between values-based purchasing and quality outcomes with revenue and reimbursement\n • Creates, monitors, and analyzes a budget; explaining variance\n • Conducts ongoing evaluation of productivity, forecasting future revenue and expenses\n • Documents capital appropriations and project authorizations\n Standard II.
Human Resources Management\n • Evaluates and specifies the critical resources required to accomplish the team's objectives\n • Initiates requests for required resources based on staff competency with patient acuity\n • Allocates team resources responsibly and equitably within the scope of labor laws\n • Calculates resource usage to set a baseline for comparison\n • Discovers opportunities to improve resource utilization\n • Implements changes in role consistent with scope of practice\n • Anticipates and plans for admission/discharge/transfer needs to facilitate patient flow\n • Resolves conflicts in a wide variety of situations, such as workload allocation, schedule overlap etc.\n • Adjusts management and personal style to fit the needs of different people and different situations\n • Explores motivational factors and tailors motivational efforts to individual needs and situations for the department\n • Conducts evaluations on personnel performance at the work place and recommends improvement plans\n • Coaches others on operating personnel management systems and their processes\n Standard III.

Leadership\n • Serves as a leader of patient care\n • Utilizes an appropriate style of leadership: autocratic, democratic, laissez-faire/free rein, etc.\n • Demonstrates leadership qualities: intelligence, influence, determination, integrity, confidence\n • Manages own behaviors during interactions, such as feedback giving, to shape workplace events\n • Utilizes positive reinforcement to motivate and attain desired behaviors; increases productivity\n • Employs leadership theories, such as contingency and transformational, and associated techniques\n • Applies techniques of “action learning” to problem solve and personally reflect on\n decisions\n Clinical Performance Improvement\n • Shares experiences with process performance improvements across multiple areas\n • Recognizes recurring and difficult problems and explores new or innovative solutions\n • Leverages technology to facilitate the sharing of clinical performance or outcomes data\n • Compares and contrasts different approaches for performance improvement; highlights pros and cons\n • Creates mechanism for ensuring quality and performance measures are understood and valued by nursing staff\n • Consults on and coaches on developing business cases to justify improvement initiatives\n Clinical Policies and Standards\n • Monitors different types of clinical practice to ensure compliance with standards\n • Evaluates existing and evolving standards and procedures and their impact on the organization\n • Informs others on advanced clinical standards and policies across medical specialties\n • Collaborates with other functions in establishing and documenting joint standards\n • Participates in the development of clinical policies and practices\n • Develops contr ol and monitoring mechanisms for clinical policies adherence\n Healthcare Policy and Ethics Compliance\n • Shares experiences with addressing diverse problems in healthcare policy compliance\n • Demonstrates best practices for dealing with complex compliance or non-compliance situations\n • Guides others in making correct decisions when faced with ethical dilemmas\n • Designs or revises organizational practices and procedures to ensure compliance with policies\n • Supports and coaches on mechanisms that encourage attention to compliance issues; all clinical activities\n • Participates in translating policy changes into operational programs and services\n Healthcare Regulatory Environment\n • Implements programs as needed to comply with diverse healthcare laws or regulations\n • Monitors regulatory compliance of all healthcare practices to ensure no violations\n • Evaluates key aspects of pending healthcare regulations and legislation that may impact company\n • Provides recommendations and implements solutions to existing and potential legal problems\n • Shares main considerations and issues related to laws and regulations in the implementation of healthcare practices\nRequirements:\n\n Graduate of a Registered Nursing program, Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. \n Master's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related advanced degree in health health-related field preferred.\n Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.\n Minimum of 2 years of healthcare leadership.\n RN license in good standing in the state of employment or a compact state, if applicable.\n Registered Nurse (RN) required.\n American Heart Association Basic Life Support.\n\nWork Schedule:\n8AM - 5PM Monday-Friday\nWork Type: \nFull Time\n
