Job description

  • Lead and manage data migration projects within the financial services sector, ensuring seamless transfer of data between systems.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies related to data migration activities.
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, data architects, IT teams, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and migration scope.
  • Oversee data validation, cleansing, and testing to ensure data integrity and accuracy post-migration.
  • Coordinate resources and manage dependencies to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data governance policies throughout the migration process.
  • Provide regular status updates, reports, and documentation to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize data migration methodologies and best practices.
  • 5+ years of project management experience focused on data migration projects in the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of data migration tools, techniques, and best practices.
  • Understanding of financial systems, regulatory requirements, and data governance principles.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams including technical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Confluence).
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, Prince2, or Agile certifications are advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Basic asset management knowledge.
  • Understanding of risk and controls is a plus.
  • Experience within PMO structure.
  • Strong PowerPoint/deck creation skills.
  • Highly client-facing, engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to drive conversations and manage expectations.
  • 8-10+ years of experience.
