Director, Early-Stage Business Development - Biopharmaceuticals

CSL seeks a Director, Business Development - Early Stage to lead sourcing, evaluation, and execution of early-stage partnerships across biotherapies, vaccines, and plasma derived therapies. In this role you will develop BD strategy, build a robust opportunity pipeline, and drive negotiations with biotech, pharma, and academic partners. You will collaborate closely with R&D, finance, legal, and commercial teams, lead due diligence, and craft business cases that advance CSL's patient focused, science driven mission in a global, highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead early-stage business development strategy for CSL's biotechnology and vaccine portfolio
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate partnerships, licensing, and investment opportunities
• Drive deal sourcing with biotech, pharma, and academic partners globally
• Collaborate with R&D, finance, legal, and commercial teams to shape transaction structures
• Develop business cases and financial models to support strategic decisions
• Manage due diligence processes and cross-functional assessment of opportunities
• Monitor industry trends in biotherapies, plasma-derived therapies, and vaccines
• Build and maintain a strong external network in biotech and pharma ecosystems
• Present recommendations and deal updates to senior and executive leadership
• Mentor and guide junior BD team members to support their development
