Job Description

Company Overview

Ambiq is on a mission to enable intelligence everywhere — powering the AI edge revolution with the world's lowest-power semiconductor solutions.

Built on our proprietary sub- and near-threshold technology, our chips deliver multi-fold improvements in energy efficiency without costly process scaling. Since 2010, we've shipped over 300 million units to customers building smarter wearables, medical devices, IoT products, and AI-powered edge applications.

Our cross-functional teams span design, research, development, production, marketing, sales, and operations across Austin, Hsinchu, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Singapore. We move fast, tackle hard problems, and create space for people to grow through complex, meaningful work that shapes the future of technology.

We're looking for self-motivated, creative problem-solvers who are eager to push technological limits and make a real impact in energy efficiency.

At Ambiq, we live by five values: Innovate. Collaborate. Focus. Learn. Achieve.

If that's you, join us — the intelligence everywhere revolution starts here.

Build the Future of Work at Ambiq

Artificial intelligence is transforming how organizations innovate, collaborate, and execute. At Ambiq, we believe the greatest opportunity isn’t simply adopting AI tools. It’s using AI to fundamentally improve how work gets done across the enterprise, enabling our people to innovate faster, make better decisions, and create lasting competitive advantage.

At Ambiq, we’ve built our reputation by pushing the boundaries of ultra-low-power semiconductor technology and enabling intelligence at the edge. As AI reshapes how engineering organizations operate, we’re creating a new leadership role to help Ambiq become one of the industry’s most AI-enabled and productive engineering organizations.

We’re looking for a Director of AI Enablement to lead that journey.

This is not an IT role.

This is not an AI engineering role.

This is a business transformation leadership role focused on applying AI to improve engineering productivity, accelerate product development, strengthen operational performance, optimize business processes, and increase organizational capacity across the company.

You’ll operate across the enterprise to identify opportunities, quantify potential impact, redesign workflows, lead high-value initiatives, and ensure successful practices become embedded in the way work gets done.

Your mission is to help Ambiq do more with the talent we already have by eliminating low-value work, accelerating decision-making, improving access to knowledge, reducing process variability, and enabling employees to focus on higher-value activities.

Success will be measured not by AI adoption alone, but by measurable improvements in productivity, forecast accuracy, process performance, execution consistency, organizational capacity, and business outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Enterprise Productivity & Transformation Strategy

  • Develop and execute Ambiq’s enterprise AI Productivity & Enablement strategy.

  • Identify opportunities where AI can create measurable improvements in productivity, quality, speed, predictability, and scalability.

  • Establish a company-wide framework for evaluating, prioritizing, piloting, and scaling AI-enabled business improvements.

  • Build and manage a portfolio of transformation initiatives aligned with Ambiq’s strategic priorities.

  • Evaluate opportunities based on business value, feasibility, organizational readiness, risk, and expected return.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive and functional leaders on opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness.

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Partner with leaders across Engineering, Software & Solutions, Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing, HR, IT, and other functions to understand how work gets done today and where friction exists.

  • Redesign workflows to reduce manual effort, administrative burden, process bottlenecks, unnecessary handoffs, exceptions, and rework.

  • Improve cycle times, throughput, decision velocity, execution consistency, and operational predictability.

  • Help improve forecasting accuracy, planning reliability, and the timely execution of key business objectives.

  • Determine when AI is the right solution and when a process, organizational, data, or traditional automation solution would create greater value.

  • Establish repeatable methods for measuring and validating business impact.

AI Opportunity Identification & Deployment

  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and determine where they can deliver meaningful business value.

  • Identify and size high-impact use cases and develop clear business cases for investment.

  • Lead selected high-priority initiatives from problem definition through pilot, implementation, adoption, and value realization.

  • Guide functional teams on additional initiatives they own, providing expertise, structure, and coaching without becoming the implementation owner for every project.

  • Partner with IT, Legal, Procurement, Security, and functional experts to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, sustainable, and appropriate for the business.

  • Establish practical standards for piloting, deploying, measuring, and operationalizing AI-enabled solutions.

Organizational Capability & Adoption

  • Build Ambiq’s organizational capability to use AI effectively in day-to-day work.

  • Develop role-specific enablement approaches for engineering, technical, operational, and business functions.

  • Identify and develop internal AI champions and communities of practice.

  • Create mechanisms for sharing successful use cases, lessons learned, reusable workflows, and best practices.

  • Drive sustainable adoption by demonstrating measurable value, not by measuring activity alone.

  • Partner with functional leaders to integrate successful AI-enabled practices into standard ways of working.

Measurement, Analytics & Accountability

  • Define productivity, efficiency, quality, capacity, and performance measures for AI-enabled initiatives.

  • Establish baseline measurements before significant initiatives begin.

  • Quantify realized benefits and compare outcomes against original business cases.

  • Develop executive dashboards that track productivity gains, operational improvements, adoption, investment, and value realization.

  • Establish clear ownership and accountability for initiative outcomes.

  • Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on progress, realized value, risks, lessons learned, and emerging opportunities.

  • Help Ambiq move beyond measuring AI consumption and activity toward understanding the return generated from its AI investments.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Establish practical governance frameworks for responsible and secure AI usage.

  • Partner with Legal, IT, Finance, Security, Procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate controls and compliance.

  • Develop clear guidance regarding data handling, intellectual property, confidentiality, human review, and the appropriate use of AI-generated outputs.

  • Assess AI-related risk based on potential business impact and sensitivity, enabling faster experimentation where risk is low and stronger controls where appropriate.

  • Ensure governance supports innovation while protecting Ambiq’s intellectual property, data, employees, customers, and reputation.

What Makes This Role Different

The Director of AI Enablement is not responsible for building Ambiq’s AI products or owning every AI technology used across the company.

Functional and technical leaders will continue to own the evaluation, selection, implementation, and ongoing management of the technologies that best support their organizations.

Instead, this role works across those functions to:

  • identify the highest-value business opportunities;

  • understand the underlying workflow, process, and data;

  • determine whether AI is the appropriate solution;

  • develop the business case;

  • align stakeholders;

  • accelerate implementation and adoption; and

  • measure whether the investment actually delivered the intended result.

The Director will directly lead a small number of Ambiq’s highest-impact transformation initiatives while advising and enabling functional teams to lead others.

One team builds AI into our products.

This role helps AI improve how we build those products and how Ambiq operates.

Who You Are

You are first and foremost a business transformation leader who understands technology.

You naturally start with the business problem rather than the tool.

You are curious enough to spend time with subject-matter experts and understand how a process actually works before proposing how to improve it.

You are comfortable working with highly technical engineers, operational leaders, and business executives, and you can translate effectively between those groups.

You influence through credibility, curiosity, data, and demonstrated results rather than positional authority.

You know that successful transformation requires both technical capability and organizational change.

You are equally comfortable examining a broken workflow, building a business case, challenging an AI vendor, discussing an opportunity with engineers, and presenting results to executives.

Most importantly, you measure success by business impact, not technology adoption.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience leading enterprise transformation, operational excellence, continuous improvement, management consulting, organizational effectiveness, digital transformation, or large-scale business improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success delivering measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality, capacity, cost, cycle time, or operational performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, build cross-functional alignment, and drive meaningful change without direct authority.

  • Strong analytical, business-process, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong understanding of modern AI technologies and their practical application within enterprise environments.

  • Experience identifying and prioritizing technology-enabled opportunities based on business value rather than novelty.

  • Experience building business cases, defining performance metrics, measuring outcomes, and communicating results to executive leadership.

  • Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial environment where the function and operating model are still being built.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Semiconductor, hardware, manufacturing, engineering, or technology industry experience.

  • Demonstrated experience leading AI-enabled business transformation, process improvement, operational excellence, or enterprise productivity initiatives.

  • Hands-on familiarity with modern AI technologies and platforms, including large language models, generative AI, AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation, workflow automation, model evaluation, prompt/context engineering, and enterprise AI platforms such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, or similar tools.

  • Lean Six Sigma, Prosci, CCMP, PMP, or equivalent transformation, change-management, or continuous-improvement experience.

  • Formal education, executive education, certification, or demonstrated expertise in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, automation, data analytics, or related disciplines.

  • Familiarity with responsible AI, AI governance, enterprise data management, cybersecurity, intellectual-property protection, and related risks.

  • Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, Operations, or a related field.

How Success Will Be Measured

  • Improved access to institutional and technical knowledge.

  • More employee capacity directed toward high-value work.

Adoption & Value Realization

  • Sustainable adoption of approved AI-enabled solutions.

  • Percentage of initiatives achieving their targeted business outcomes.

  • Demonstrated return on investment from transformation initiatives.

  • Continued use of successful workflows after pilots transition into normal operations.

Governance & Risk

  • Compliance with Ambiq’s AI governance standards.

  • Appropriate protection of confidential information and intellectual property.

  • Zero material incidents resulting from unauthorized, unsafe, or non-compliant AI usage.

Why This Role, Why Now

Ambiq competes in an industry where many of our competitors have significantly greater scale and resources.

Our opportunity is not simply to add more people. It is to increase the capacity, speed, and effectiveness of the people we already have.

The next generation of competitive advantage will not come from technology alone. It will come from how effectively organizations apply technology to improve the way work gets done.

As AI rapidly reshapes how knowledge is created, decisions are made, engineering work is performed, and processes are executed, Ambiq has an opportunity to build a more productive, predictable, and scalable organization.

This role will help define that future.

The Director of AI Enablement will ensure AI creates measurable business value, strengthens employee effectiveness, increases organizational capacity, and becomes a sustainable source of competitive advantage for Ambiq.

Why Ambiq?

As a smaller, agile company, Ambiq has a unique opportunity to move faster than larger competitors, adopt new ways of working more rapidly, and create advantages that scale alone cannot provide.

This role offers the opportunity to build a new strategic capability from the ground up, work directly with executive leadership, influence every major function of the company, and help shape how one of the industry’s leading semiconductor companies operates in the AI era.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to leave a lasting mark on both an organization and an industry, we’d love to talk with you.
