Staff Cloud Engineer-Infrastructure

Description

We are looking for a Staff Cloud Engineer-Infrastructure to join our team in Utah on a contract basis with the potential for a long-term opportunity. In this role, you will strengthen and scale cloud infrastructure with a focus on availability, security, performance, and operational resilience. The position is ideal for a senior specialist who brings deep AWS expertise and a strong background in infrastructure automation and recovery planning.

Responsibilities:
Oversee and enhance AWS infrastructure to maintain dependable, secure, and high-performing cloud operations.
Design, configure, and support core networking and edge services, including VPC environments, Route 53, CloudFront, firewalls, and load balancing solutions.
Build, refine, and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to improve consistency, scalability, and deployment efficiency.
Develop automation that supports disaster recovery readiness and strengthens resiliency across multiple Availability Zones.
Monitor cloud environments and implement improvements that reduce risk, increase uptime, and support long-term operational stability.
Partner with technical teams to plan and execute infrastructure changes while aligning cloud architecture with business and application needs.

Requirements

10+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS in complex enterprise or large-scale environments.
Active AWS certification is required.
Strong expertise with Terraform and infrastructure as code practices.
Proven experience managing AWS networking services such as Amazon VPC, Route 53, and load balancing tools.
Familiarity with Amazon CloudFront, AWS Control Tower, and cloud security controls.
Demonstrated ability to design highly available and resilient cloud solutions across multiple Availability Zones.
