Job Description

Hardware Circuit Board Tech - Build the Boards Behind Next-Gen Power

Durham, NC

Hands-on in the lab. Right at the edge of what silicon can do.

You ll be the go-to hardware tech turning cutting-edge power designs into real, working boards that get pushed hard in the lab.

From assembling PCBs to helping debug and repair high-performance power circuits, you ll be the hands on the hardware that lets engineers move fast.

You like the bench. You like the tools. You like making things work.

If you love building, soldering, and tinkering with real electronics hardware, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Work On

You ll live in the lab, supporting power-electronics systems and application platforms used in AI, battery management, motor drives, fast charging, and more.

  • Prototype printed circuit boards

  • Power-electronics application platforms

  • Small electrical assemblies and harnesses

  • Simple mechanical fixtures and lab hardware

  • Oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters

  • Customer-focused demo and evaluation boards

  • Next-generation silicon evaluation builds

You ll be working hands-on with soldering tools, PCB assemblies, and standard lab test equipment as part of a tight applications team.

This is where high-performance silicon becomes real hardware on the bench.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assembling PCBs by hand, soldering SMT and through-hole components

  • Debugging circuits and applications under engineering supervision

  • Building small electrical assemblies and wiring harnesses

  • Performing light mechanical work to create and modify fixtures

  • Running tests with oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters following procedures

  • Helping repair prototypes and boards damaged during testing

  • Organizing lab space, tools, and hardware inventory

  • Collaborating closely with applications engineers and cross-functional teams

  • Supporting rapid evaluation of new power-electronics technologies

  • Contributing to high-quality, repeatable lab execution

What We're Looking For

  • Strong proficiency in hand soldering SMT and through-hole components on PCBs

  • Basic electrical engineering knowledge (able to identify resistors, capacitors, inductors)

  • Previous electronics lab experience (school, hobby, or professional) desirable

  • Comfort working with standard lab test equipment (oscilloscope, power supplies, multimeter) or willingness to learn

  • Basic computer proficiency with Office products

  • Some programming exposure or interest is desirable

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, highly organized approach to lab work

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative lab environment

The Experience That Will Really Get Our Attention

You re the person others hand the tricky soldering jobs to. You ve reworked fine-pitch parts, fixed dead boards, and you actually enjoy methodically hunting down what went wrong. Maybe you ve done this in industry, a university lab, a makerspace, or on your own bench at home.

If you ve built and debugged real circuits, feel at home around scopes and power supplies, and like working shoulder-to-shoulder with applications engineers on serious power hardware, you ll stand out here.

Why This Opportunity?

You ll be directly plugged into next-generation silicon and power-electronics hardware, not stuck on repetitive production work.

Your builds, rework, and lab support will directly enable rapid evaluation of new technologies and real customer applications.

You ll join a fast-moving, collaborative, low-ego technical team with the chance to grow as the company scales and the customer base expands.

And you ll see your work show up in high-growth markets from AI infrastructure to battery systems, motor drives, and fast charging.

Interested?

If you re serious about hardware, love the lab, and want your hands on the boards that push performance limits, let s connect.
