Job Description

Payroll Specialist (Part-Time) | Essen, Germany | Hybrid

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join a dynamic shared services team supporting a globally recognized retail leader. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about German payroll regulations and eager to contribute to a company known for its innovation and employee development.

The Role

  • Manage monthly payroll processing for various companies, ensuring compliance with all legal, collective bargaining, and company regulations.
  • Administer working time and vacation accounts within the time tracking system.
  • Prepare employment contracts, references, and manage employee file digitization.
  • Advise employees and management on payroll-related matters, including employment, tax, and social security legislation.
  • Serve as the primary contact for health insurance providers, social security agencies, and authorities, handling certifications and reporting.
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll data for accounting purposes (payroll postings, personnel provisions, etc.).
  • Monitor and implement changes in payroll regulations.
  • Support personnel cost planning and analyze personnel key figures.
  • Identify and implement process optimization opportunities within payroll.

What You'll Need

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship and several years of experience in payroll or personnel administration.
  • Solid knowledge of current German employment, wage tax, and social security law.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with HR administration and payroll systems, preferably SAP HCM or P&I Loga.
  • High level of commitment, service orientation, initiative, and independent work style.
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and resilience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in digital HR transformation.
