Role Description
The Behavior Technician (BT) Trainee role is a great opportunity to start a career in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and work toward RBT certification. Beyou provides the required training, course, exam preparation, and RBT exam reimbursement at no cost to you.
Trainees begin at a trainee rate for up to 40 days and transition to the RBT rate once certified. If certification is completed sooner, the increased rate takes effect upon certification.
BTs provide direct, play-based ABA therapy to children under the supervision of a BCBA. This is an in-person, part-time position serving clients in Oakley, Brentwood, and Antioch, CA.

What You'll Do
As a Behavior Technician, you will:
Provide one-on-one, play-based ABA therapy.
Implement individualized behavior intervention plans developed by a BCBA.
Support children in developing communication, social, self-help, and other functional skills.
Use evidence-based behavioral strategies during sessions.
Collect and accurately record session data as required.
Follow treatment protocols and clinical direction provided by the supervising BCBA.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Communicate observations and client progress to the supervising clinical team.
Support positive relationships with children, caregivers, and clinical team members.
Follow physical, safety, and client-specific requirements during service delivery.
Participate in training, supervision, and professional development activities.
Apply feedback and continuously improve your clinical and professional skills.
Maintain confidentiality and follow Beyou's professional and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
You may be a strong candidate if you:
Have a High School Diploma or GED.
Are at least 18 years old.
Have experience working with children through babysitting, tutoring, coaching, teaching, childcare, or similar experiences.
Are compassionate, patient, dependable, and eager to learn.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Are comfortable working in hands-on, people-centered environments.
Are open to feedback, training, and ongoing professional development.
Can adapt to the needs of different children, families, and communities.
Have reliable transportation and are willing to commute within the Sacramento service area.
Are legally authorized to work in the United States.
Are able to pass a required background check.
Have CPR certification or are willing to obtain certification.
Can complete required TB testing, physical examination, and vaccination documentation.

⏰ Schedule
Monday–Friday, Schedule will vary based on client needs, assigned services, and available service hours.
Candidates should have consistent availability during the required service window.
📅 Employment Type
Part-Time
⏱️ Hours
Minimum: 10 hours per week
Maximum: 15–20 hours per week
💰 Pay
$16.90/hour for the first 40 days while completing the required training and preparing for the RBT certification exam. Once you successfully obtain your RBT certification, your rate will increase to $27–$30/hour. If you become RBT certified before the 40-day trainee period ends, your increased RBT rate will take effect as soon as your certification is obtained.
🚗 Transportation
Reliable transportation and the ability to commute within the assigned service area are required.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting pay at $16.90/hour, with higher rates available after RBT Certification
Required training and exam preparation are provided at no cost to the trainee. We will also reimburse the cost of the RBT certification exam.
