Location: Classified Location
Position Type: On-Call — Approximately 2–3 Times per Quarter
Hourly Rate: $75 (plus lodging) – $90 (if local to job site) per hour
Clearance Requirement: Active DoD Top Secret Clearance (SCI Eligible)
Certification Requirement: DoD 8570/8320-Compliant Certification(s)

The Opportunity
RCG is seeking an experienced OEP COOP/DR Specialist with an active DoD Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility to support our federal government customer.
This is an on-call position, requiring support approximately 2–3 times per quarter. The OEP COOP/DR Specialist will support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of secure network infrastructure while playing a critical role in maintaining the customer's Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities.
The ideal candidate will bring strong secure-network experience, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support mission-essential IT services during continuity exercises and recovery operations.
What You’ll Do
- Operate, maintain, and provide sustaining engineering support for secure network systems.
- Provide and maintain core network services, including DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain systems used to manage the end-to-end configuration of network systems and regularly verify configuration accuracy.
- Support and maintain Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans.
- Participate in continuity and disaster recovery exercises and help ensure the readiness and availability of mission-essential services, including email, network drives, and other critical IT resources.
- Troubleshoot LAN, MAN, and WAN outages and coordinate resolution of connectivity issues with service providers.
- Support IT security personnel and participate in architecture and change review boards as required.
- Manage IP address configuration data within designated management systems.
- Grant and manage network access in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, system changes, and progress.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior network engineers.
What We’re Looking For
- Current, active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- 5+ years of experience working within a secure network environment.
- Current DoD 8570/8320-compliant certification(s).
- Strong hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting LAN, MAN, and WAN environments.
- Experience troubleshooting network outages and connectivity issues in coordination with telecommunications and service providers.
- Experience supporting core network services, including DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
- Experience with enterprise ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
- Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation, and progress-reporting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to adapt to changing operational and mission requirements.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior network engineers.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
