Electrical Project Manager
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + Package
Sector: Electrical Building Services | M&E | Commercial Construction

The Opportunity

An established and growing building services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join their Milton Keynes team.

With a strong pipeline of commercial projects secured across the region, this is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to handover, working with clients, consultants and site teams to deliver high-quality installations safely, on time and within budget.

Projects include commercial fit-outs, CAT A and CAT B refurbishments, design and build schemes, electrical infrastructure upgrades and specialist building services installations.

This role would suit a commercially aware Electrical Project Manager who enjoys managing the full project lifecycle and building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from pre-construction through to completion and client handover.
  • Lead all aspects of project delivery, including procurement, programme management, installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, supervisors, engineers and site teams.
  • Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Oversee procurement of materials, plant and subcontract packages.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, variations and financial performance.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial, technical and programme risks.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, main contractors and key stakeholders.
  • Manage technical queries, RFIs, design changes and project documentation.
  • Ensure installations comply with specifications, drawings and current industry standards.
  • Coordinate electrical works alongside mechanical and wider construction packages.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover activities.
  • Drive high standards of quality, health & safety and project reporting.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest standard.
Project Experience

Experience in some or all of the following would be advantageous:

  • Commercial office fit-outs
  • CAT A & CAT B refurbishment projects
  • Design & Build schemes
  • Landlord and tenant works
  • Electrical infrastructure upgrades
  • LV distribution systems
  • Lighting and emergency lighting
  • Small power installations
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Structured cabling and data installations
  • Security and access control systems
  • UPS and standby power systems
  • BMS and controls integration
  • Testing and commissioning
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within Building Services, M&E or Electrical Contracting.
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical installations and project delivery.
  • Experience delivering commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects.
  • Design & Build project experience preferred.
  • Strong planning, procurement and programme management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, variations and cost control.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and client relationships.
  • Good knowledge of current UK electrical standards, health & safety legislation and CDM regulations.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • CSCS or ECS Card.
  • HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent electrical qualification advantageous.
