Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Utility Program Manager based in the United States.

Join a mission-driven technology company helping utilities make energy efficiency more accessible to millions of households across North America. In this remote role, you will manage day-to-day utility programs, build trusted relationships with partners, and ensure smooth program operations from launch through ongoing performance management. You will collaborate with customer care, engineering, commerce, marketing, and growth teams to deliver seamless experiences for utility partners and their customers. Your work will directly support energy-efficient purchasing decisions through digital marketplaces, instant rebates, financing options, and streamlined program enrollment. You will also leverage AI-powered tools to automate workflows, improve reporting efficiency, and optimize operational processes. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive, technology-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment with significant ownership and autonomy.

Accountabilities
  • Manage utility partner relationships: Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned utility partners, responding to questions, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining clear, consistent communication.
  • Lead partner meetings: Organize and facilitate regular meetings with utility program teams to review performance, discuss priorities, identify challenges, and coordinate upcoming initiatives.
  • Configure utility programs: Set up and maintain program parameters on the digital platform, including rebate structures, eligibility criteria, and new product categories.
  • Oversee program reporting: Collaborate with analysts to prepare accurate, comprehensive monthly reports that communicate program performance and support data-driven decisions.
  • Coordinate program launches: Partner with marketing, commerce, engineering, and other internal teams to plan and execute program launches and campaigns on schedule.
  • Develop partner communications: Create clear and practical program updates, launch plans, operational documentation, and other materials that keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Improve operational efficiency: Use AI tools to automate recurring reports, streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure reliable program delivery: Monitor ongoing activities, anticipate potential issues, and maintain dependable service throughout utility partners' business hours, particularly across Pacific and Mountain time zones.
  • Deliver measurable results: Ensure partners receive timely answers, reports are accurate and submitted on schedule, and at least one program launch is completed successfully within the first year.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional experience: At least 3 years of experience in customer success, account management, solutions management, or program management, preferably within a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to explain technical concepts and operational issues in straightforward language, write actionable updates, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Relationship management: Demonstrated ability to build trusted partner relationships, manage expectations, facilitate meetings, and resolve issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Organization and execution: Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects, manage competing deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Technical aptitude: Comfort working with software platforms, configuring systems, understanding data flows, and interpreting performance metrics to communicate meaningful insights.
  • Proactive ownership: A self-directed mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, and the initiative to identify challenges, recommend solutions, and move projects forward independently.
  • AI proficiency: Regular use of AI tools to improve productivity, automate repetitive work, and discover more efficient ways to manage operational responsibilities.
  • Preferred industry experience: Familiarity with utility energy-efficiency programs, demand-response initiatives, or other regulated industries is an advantage.
  • Additional technical skills: Experience with rebate processing, program reporting, HubSpot, business intelligence tools, Snowflake, or SQL is beneficial.
  • Adaptability and collaboration: Ability to learn new systems and industry concepts quickly while working effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation: Annual base salary ranging from $90,000 to $115,000, plus stock options.
  • Healthcare coverage: Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Retirement savings: Access to a 401(k) plan.
  • Paid time off: PTO to support work-life balance and personal needs.
  • Remote flexibility: Work remotely from locations in the Pacific or Mountain time zones.
  • Technology equipment: Apple hardware provided to support your work.
  • Professional autonomy: A self-directed environment that encourages ownership, initiative, and independent decision-making.
  • Mission-driven impact: Help expand access to energy-efficient products and support programs that benefit households and utility partners.
  • Collaborative culture: Work closely with experienced colleagues across client services, engineering, marketing, commerce, and growth.
  • AI-enabled workflows: Opportunities to apply AI tools to improve productivity, reporting, and operational processes.
  • Occasional travel: Travel to utility partners and team gatherings as needed.
