Job description

About the Role

Join an early-stage B2B software company as its first dedicated product designer, reporting to a company co-founder. You will shape the user experience and design language of a technical hiring platform used by recruiters, engineers, and candidates.

What You'll Do

  • Study the needs of recruiters, engineers, and candidates to identify experience issues and improve product flows.

  • Establish and maintain a cohesive design language and design system across the platform.

  • Use product analytics, including session recordings, to identify opportunities and guide design improvements.

  • Partner with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to deliver consistent experiences across assessment and hiring workflows.

  • Lead the website's information architecture, visual design, and front-end implementation.

What We're Looking For

  • Two to four years of product design experience, with strong front-end engineering skills.

  • Proficiency with Figma and production TypeScript, supported by a portfolio of polished, shipped product work.

  • Experience at an early-stage startup, ideally as an early or founding technical designer.

  • Experience creating and applying a design system across a product.

  • Familiarity with product analytics tools such as PostHog and experience working across engineering, product, and go-to-market teams.

  • Able to work in a fast-moving environment, run focused research cycles, and ship iteratively.

  • Experience designing software for hardware or technical products, such as CAD, simulation, or developer tools, is beneficial.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $140,000 to $185,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

Hybrid role based in San Francisco, California, with an expectation of working in the office three to four days per week.
