Job Description

Senior Business Partner

Location: Plymouth (Hybrid Working - 3 Days Onsite)

Contract: 6 Months

Rate: £40 per hour (via Umbrella Company)

Security Clearance: BPSS required, with eligibility to obtain SC Clearance


The Opportunity


We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Partner to play a key role in shaping workforce strategy, driving talent acquisition excellence, and supporting organisational transformation within a complex and dynamic environment.


This is an exciting opportunity to influence critical workforce decisions, partner with senior leaders, and deliver innovative people solutions that enable long-term business success.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Workforce Planning

  • Translate workforce plans into practical hiring and resourcing strategies.
  • Ensure the right balance of permanent employees, contingent workers, and delivery partners to meet workforce objectives.
  • Leverage workforce data, analytics, and insights to anticipate future capability requirements and address skills gaps proactively.

Talent Acquisition

  • Lead the delivery of critical hiring plans across priority business areas.
  • Drive recruitment transformation initiatives to improve hiring effectiveness and reduce reliance on contingent labour.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement innovative attraction and selection strategies.

Organisation Design & Workforce Enablement

  • Support organisation design initiatives and operating model changes to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Enhance organisational effectiveness through workforce modelling, span of control reviews, and structural optimisation.
  • Provide expert guidance on workforce planning and organisational capability.

Talent Retention & Employee Experience

  • Identify critical talent risks and develop targeted retention strategies.
  • Implement initiatives to reduce attrition within key talent populations.
  • Coach and support leaders in creating psychologically safe, inclusive, and high-performing teams.
  • Utilise engagement, performance, and workforce data to drive continuous improvement and enhance employee experience.


Key Skills & Competencies


  • Proven experience in workforce planning, organisational design, or strategic people partnering.
  • Strong talent acquisition and recruitment transformation experience.
  • The ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience using workforce analytics and data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Strong coaching and leadership development capabilities.
  • A track record of delivering change and driving measurable workforce outcomes within complex organisations.
