Job description
What if you could do the kind of work the world needs?
At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects and connect with the brightest minds in your field to do the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.
A little more about your role…
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a talented Senior or Principal Consultant to join our team. This is an opportunity to work with recognised technical experts on nationally important projects while helping shape the future growth of our air quality services.
A Little More About Your Role
You will play a leading role in the delivery and management of air quality projects, providing technical excellence, client leadership and commercial awareness across a diverse portfolio of work.
Depending on your experience and grade, you will be expected to:
- Lead and deliver complex air quality assessments and technical advisory projects.
- Manage project teams, programmes and budgets to ensure high-quality and commercially successful delivery.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and multidisciplinary teams across WSP.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical methods, tools and quality systems.
- Apply and promote robust quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures across all aspects of project delivery.
- Identify opportunities for repeat and new business with existing and prospective clients.
- Prepare high-quality proposals, fee submissions and tender responses.
- Support business development activities, contributing to work-winning and growth initiatives.
- Build and maintain a strong professional network within the air quality sector.
YOUR TEAM
Following the recent acquisition of Ricardo by WSP, our world-class air quality team now exceeds 200 air quality professionals. You will be working on a wide range of projects including major infrastructure and energy projects of national significance, and strategic projects in the UK, Middle East and Asia, developing policy-support tools and analysis for national, regional and local governments, international finance institutions, and the private sector.
You’re a great fit for this role if you have:
- A degree (BSc or above) in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Engineering or another relevant scientific discipline.
- Experience working within an air quality consultancy, research organisation, academic institution or related technical environment.
- Demonstrable experience delivering air quality projects for public or private sector clients.
- Line management or mentoring experience.
- Experience contributing to successful bids, proposals and tender submissions.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Chartered status or progress towards chartership with an appropriate professional institution.
What You'll Bring
You will be a technically strong air quality professional who combines scientific credibility with commercial awareness. You'll be comfortable engaging directly with clients, identifying opportunities, supporting business growth and helping develop the next generation of air quality specialists.
For Principal Consultant applicants, we would particularly welcome candidates who can demonstrate a track record of technical leadership, project management, proposal development and successful work winning.
Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.
Join our close-knit community of talented individuals who share your passion for making a positive impact. Our global team includes more than 69,000 employees, working together to make a difference in communities both close to home and around the world.
