Job Description

Loan Analyst
πŸ“ Toronto

About Elect Capital
Elect Capital is changing how SMEs access funding. We provide fast, flexible working capital loans, business loans, and merchant cash advances β€” no red tape, no slow decisions. Live across the UK, Australia, Canada, and the US, and scaling fast, we give SMEs the speed and flexibility traditional lenders can't.

🎯 Our Mission
We exist to give SMEs the capital and confidence to grow β€” fast, fair, and friction-free. Every ambitious business deserves a real shot at growth, not months of paperwork. We've built lending for speed, without cutting corners on fairness. When SMEs win, we win.

The Role
The Loan Application Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining the speed and quality Elect is known for. You'll prepare files for underwriting, "scrubbing" applications so bank statements are clean, understood and ready for decisioning β€” a fast-paced, precise role that's a great entry point into SME lending for someone hungry to build a career in finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work through and verify loan application bank statements for accuracy, clarity and completeness
  • Identify errors, missing information, and inconsistencies in application packs
  • Liaise with underwriters, brokers and internal teams to clarify and correct submissions
  • Maintain a daily log of scrubbing activity and recurring issues to drive process improvements
  • Support the operations and credit teams to ensure only clean files move to decisioning

πŸ” What We're Looking For

  • A finance, accounting, or related degree
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working with data, documents, and financial records
  • A steady, hungry attitude β€” ready to get stuck in, no ego
  • Strong organisational skills and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Clear, efficient communicator, internally and with external brokers

Bonus

  • Previous experience in financial services, lending, or quality assurance

Our Offer

  • Salary range: $55,000 – $65,000 CAD
  • 25 days annual leave (PTO)
  • Luxury offices in downtown financial core – First Canadian Place
  • Barista onsite all day for all your coffee needs
  • Rooftop loft community space & outdoor space to decompress
