The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders, side loaders) for loading, unloading, and moving shipping containers.
• Safely transfer containers between railcars, trucks, and yard storage locations.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
• Coordinate container movements and tasks with yard personnel and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment by adhering to established protocols.
• Assist in the efficient flow of freight through the intermodal yard.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position.
• Previous experience operating heavy machinery in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred.
• A strong commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including night shifts and weekends, based on union seniority.
• Basic communication and teamwork skills.
