Job Description

Senior Well-Architected Framework Architect

AWS Well-Architected — Observability & Reliability

Location : Remote (NY,USA)

Job Type: Full Time

Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Well-Architected Framework Architect to assess, design, and deploy AWS solutions that meet defined non-functional requirements (NFRs) across our customer environments. Anchored in the AWS Well-Architected Framework, this role focuses specifically on the Observability and Reliability pillars—translating assessment findings into concrete, production-ready solutions and deploying them directly into customer environments. The ideal candidate is both a deep technical expert and a hands-on builder who can move from architecture and design through to implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Observability

• Design and implement end-to-end observability solutions using AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana.

• Capture, manipulate, aggregate, and report on metrics across distributed applications and AWS services.

• Build and maintain dashboards that surface actionable insight into system health, performance, and NFR compliance.

• Develop observability solutions and deploy them into the customer environment, ensuring they are operable and maintainable by customer teams.

• Define alerting, thresholds, and reporting standards that align with business and operational requirements.

Reliability

• Serve as the subject-matter expert on High Availability, resiliency, and fail-over for AWS services in multi-zonal (multi-AZ) and multi-region configurations.

• Define AWS solutions that satisfy the specified NFRs against which applications have been assessed.

• Architect and implement resilient designs incorporating redundancy, automated recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and graceful degradation.

• Develop reliability solutions and deploy them into the customer environment.

• Validate resiliency through fail-over testing, chaos/resilience exercises, and recovery objective (RTO/RPO) verification.

General

• Conduct and contribute to AWS Well-Architected Framework reviews, focusing on the Observability and Reliability domains.

• Partner with customer stakeholders to gather NFRs and translate them into technical designs.

• Produce architecture documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive, in-depth working experience with AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana, including a substantial history of capturing, manipulating, reporting, and dashboarding metrics.

• Proven expertise in High Availability, resiliency, and fail-over of AWS services in multi-zonal and multi-region configurations.

• Demonstrated ability to define AWS solutions that meet specified non-functional requirements.

• Hands-on experience developing solutions and deploying them into live customer/production environments.

• Strong understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework, particularly the Reliability and Operational Excellence pillars.

• Solid grasp of AWS core services (compute, networking, storage, load balancing, DNS/Route 53, IAM) as they relate to availability and observability.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK) for repeatable deployments.

• Familiarity with disaster recovery strategies and RTO/RPO-driven design.

• Experience in a consulting or customer-facing delivery capacity.

Key Attributes

• Able to operate independently as both an architect and a hands-on implementer.

• Strong communication skills for working directly with customer teams.

• Comfortable owning solutions from assessment through deployment.
