Accounting Manager (Consultant) - Atlas Search

A premier, global financial services firm is seeking an Accounting Manager for a 3-6 month consulting engagement supporting a fast-growing U.S. asset management business. This is a high-visibility opportunity working directly with senior finance leadership (Global Controller & CFO level) in a lean, collaborative environment.

What You'll Own:

1. Full monthly close cycle — balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow
2. Daily accounting operations: cash management, AP, T&E
3. Short-term cash flow forecasting
4. Coordination with external fund administrators to obtain AUM data, management/incentive fees, and distributions
5. EBITDA-style management reporting for leadership
6. Support for quarterly SEC reporting and annual audits
7. Intercompany/allocated cost accuracy across global teams
8. Process and controls improvement as the business scales

What We're Looking For:

1. 5-10+ years of accounting experience, ideally including exposure to hedge funds, private equity, or asset management (Big 4 or public accounting background a strong plus)
2. Open to strong accountants from asset management, financial services, or corporate accounting backgrounds without direct fund accounting experience
3. CPA preferred but not required
4. Comfortable owning a full close cycle independently while also seeing the bigger picture
5. Strong communicator across internal teams, external administrators, auditors, and senior leadership
6. Systems experience with NetSuite, Bill.com, and/or Smartsheet a plus
