Job Description

Employment Type: Intern 

Division:  Finance 

Department:  Corporate Accounting 

Work Schedule: Full-time/40-hours - In Person  

Salary Range:  $24 - $29/hour 

 

The Corporate Accounting Intern will support the Accounting and Finance team with a variety of corporate accounting functions, including financial reporting, month-end close activities, subcontractor prequalification, accounts receivable, compliance initiatives, and other administrative responsibilities. This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced corporate environment and exposure to key accounting processes that support the organization. 

 

Responsibilities / Essential Functions 

  • Assist with project setup by assigning job numbers and establishing projects in various accounting system modules. 
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and support month-end close activities. 
  • Perform general ledger account analysis and investigate variances. 
  • Assist with the review and analysis of subcontractor prequalification documentation. 
  • Maintain subcontractor files and support the renewal process. 
  • Track owner contract processing and maintain contract records. 
  • Enter cash receipts and process daily deposits. 
  • Support accounts receivable activities and recordkeeping. 
  • Assist with sales and use tax compliance and maintain related documentation. 
  • Support the Internal Audit Program and other corporate compliance initiatives. 
  • Prepare and organize financial and administrative records. 
  • Assist with special projects and other accounting-related tasks as assigned.

Required Experience  

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Strong interest in corporate accounting and financial operations. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required. 
  • Previous internship, accounting, finance, or administrative experience is a plus.
