Datacenter Field Operations Technician (Contract)

Job Title - Datacenter Field Operations Technician
Experience Required - 6 Months
Location - New Albany, OH/Montgomery, AL/Huntsville, AL
Hire Type - Contract (Onsite)

1. Experience in Data Center Operations, Cabling, Telecom, or Network Hardware Installation.
2. Hands-on expertise in fiber optics, structured cabling (Cat6A, OM4, OS2, MPO/MTP), installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
3. Experience with rack & stack, cable management, labeling, and hardware deployments.
4. Perform break-fix activities, circuit repairs, optic replacements, and physical layer troubleshooting.
5. Knowledge of testing tools such as OTDR, Power Meter, VFL, Loopback Adapters, and Cable Certifiers.
6. Support data center builds, rack turn-up/turn-down, decommissioning, and relocation activities.
7. Execute fiber continuity testing, loopback testing, QA/QC validation, and documentation audits.
8. Familiarity with ticketing systems, asset management, DCIM tools, and workflow tracking.
9. Preferred experience with hyperscale data centers, liquid-cooled racks (AALC), and large-scale deployments.
10. Follow safety standards including LOTO, ESD compliance, PPE requirements, and OSHA practices.
11. Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in data hall environments, and support extended/rotating shifts.
12. Strong communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and safety-first mindset.
13. Osha certification preferred.
