·       CompTIA security+ certificate preferred.
-          Security+ or studying security in college.
·       Networking knowledge (layers, protocols, etc).
·       Having worked in a SOC (Security Operations Center)
·       Splunk or Crowdstrike Falcon
·        CompTIA
·       Security +
·       ISC2 Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
·       GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
·       CCNA or CCNP

Job Description:
- Internal threats to servers/assets, phishing email reporting, threat monitoring going off tickets in swimlane investigating alerts
- Playbooks for most everything they do
·       The information security engineer is expected to constantly scan and analyze data and access logging software to help maintain the integrity of all information technology (IT) assets within the company. They are expected to be fluent in all required programming languages and able to detect any sign of unauthorized usage in a timely manner and respond quickly according to established best-practice protocols.
o   Examples: monitoring of emails, security tools that generate security alerts, work with tickets accordingly. It’s NOC work but security.
