SOC Analyst

A financial services company in Florida is seeking a SOC Analyst to join their growing team in the Greater Tampa Bay area, supporting security operations, incident triage, and threat investigation activities.

About the Opportunity:

  Schedule: Monday to Friday, with rotating weekend coverage as needed

  
  


• 
  

  Hours: 37.5 hours per week, sometimes 40 hours; standard business hours

  
  


• 
  

  Setting: Hybrid (at least 3 days a week)

  
  

Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Monitor, triage, and investigate security alerts and incidents across SOC operations

  
  


• 
  

  Analyze phishing emails, suspicious links, and related user-reported security events

  
  


• 
  

  Correlate logs and alerts across systems to identify attack patterns and escalation needs

  
  


• 
  

  Investigate endpoint, malware, identity, and network activity to determine scope and impact

  
  


• 
  

  Document findings clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams on containment and response actions

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  6-8 years of experience in information security monitoring, incident response, or a related SOC environment

  
  


• 
  

  Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment

  
  


• 
  

  Strong understanding of malware analysis and reverse engineering techniques

  
  


• 
  

  Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, networking protocols, operating systems, and security technologies

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with incident triage, investigation, and escalation decision-making

  
  

Desired Skills:

• 
  

  Experience mapping alerts to MITRE ATT&CK tactics and techniques

  
  


• 
  

  Hands-on experience with SIEM correlation rules and log analysis

  
  


• 
  

  Experience investigating phishing, data loss prevention, and CrowdStrike-related alerts

  
  


• 
  

  Familiarity with ELK or similar log analysis tools
