Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Information Technology department for an IT Infrastructure Architect.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the organisation's technology landscape, working with business leaders and the Technology Senior Leadership Team to align our infrastructure strategy and capabilities with current and future business objectives.
Role Overview:
The IT Infrastructure Architect will provide architectural oversight and governance across the design, implementation and continual improvement of reusable, scalable and secure IT services.
You will help define our IT strategy, principles and standards, while ensuring that proposed technology solutions are fit for purpose and aligned with business and customer goals. The role will also assess current and emerging technologies, translating business requirements into practical infrastructure designs and proposals.
Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Technology Senior Leadership Team and wider business management teams in the design and deployment of IT services and infrastructure.

• Helping to define and publish the organisation's IT strategy.

• Participating in design authority reviews to ensure that proposed solutions are technically appropriate and fit for purpose.

• Developing and maintaining IT architecture principles, standards and design-decision libraries.

• Providing governance to maintain alignment between technology, business objectives and customer needs.

• Reviewing existing IT services and infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Working with key stakeholders and Business Analysts to define and review functional and non-functional requirements.

• Assessing current and emerging technologies and producing supporting specifications, analysis, documentation and costings.

• Coordinating plans and activities with project management teams, internal technology specialists, contractors and third-party providers.

• Maintaining effective architectural and design documentation throughout the lifecycle of systems, services and environments.

• Sharing knowledge and mentoring colleagues where appropriate.

• Taking a cybersecurity-first approach to the implementation of systems, services and environments.
• Ensuring proposed solutions adhere to relevant FCA, PRA, TCF and Data Protection/GDPR requirements and applicable best-practice recommendations.

Person Specification:

• The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who can work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will be able to translate conceptual designs into practical solutions and communicate complex technical information clearly.

You will hold at least one of the following qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or
• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert.

You will also have:

• Experience of rearchitecting IT solutions for cloud-native and hybrid platforms.
• Experience of translating user requirements into technical specifications and design criteria.
• Experience of producing and maintaining IT solution artefacts, such as design documents, standards documents and IT architecture principles.
• Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills.
• A pragmatic, organised and methodical approach.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator Associate or Teams Administrator Associate qualification would be advantageous. Experience of designing an on-premises PBX call-centre migration or designing and implementing customer-service CRM systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics Customer Service and Customer Insights, would also be desirable.
