Job Title:  Music Teacher
Location:  Red Kite School, Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, HP27 0JW
Hours:      40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8am - 4pm
Salary:      Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract:  Permanent | Term Time Only
Start:        November 2026

About the Role

We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our specialist education team and make a lasting difference to the lives of our students.

This is a rewarding opportunity to inspire a love of music, creativity and self-expression while delivering engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students. Working within a supportive and multi-disciplinary environment, you will help students develop confidence, resilience and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Many of our students have additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions and associated social, emotional and behavioural needs, making this role ideal for a teacher who thrives on building positive relationships and creating meaningful learning experiences.

What you will be doing

  • Planning and delivering engaging Music lessons that inspire and motivate students.
  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Monitoring, assessing and reporting on student progress and achievement.
  • Contributing to individual education and behaviour plans to support student development.
  • Creating a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, families and wider professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Supporting the wider school community and contributing to school improvement initiatives.
  • Promoting the wellbeing, safeguarding and personal development of every student.

About You

  • Holds a recognised teaching qualification and QTS or equivalent required.
  • Has experience planning and delivering high-quality lessons.
  • Is passionate about Music and inspiring young people through creative learning.
  • Can effectively differentiate teaching to meet a range of learning needs.
  • Has strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
  • Experience with children within an education setting. SEN experience would be an advantage
  • Remains calm, resilient and adaptable when supporting students with additional needs and challenging behaviours.

Red Kite School is an independent special school for up to 60 young people aged 11–18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Opened in September 2024, the school is located in the beautiful market town of Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire. We provide a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where every young person is understood, valued and encouraged to thrive.

Our experienced team creates a calm, structured environment where students build confidence, resilience and achieve positive outcomes through personalised learning, high expectations and strong relationships.

Our curriculum develops the knowledge, emotional resilience, social communication and life skills students need to succeed in education, their communities and beyond, helping every young person become a confident learner, responsible citizen and prepared for their future.

At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity.
