For over a century, The AA has been keeping Britain moving. Today, millions of drivers trust us to be there when it matters most, and we're equally committed to supporting the people who make that possible. This is the Job

Think The AA is just about roadside assistance? Think again!

As a Field Account Manager within AA Cars, you’ll manage a portfolio of 100–200 established dealer accounts across the South East, building trusted relationships and helping partners get the most from the AA Cars platform. With four days each week spent visiting dealerships and one day focused on planning, you’ll have the autonomy to manage your territory and stay close to your customers.

Your focus will be retaining and growing existing accounts through contract renewals, price negotiations, increased stock listings and relevant upsell opportunities across our products and services, including Vehicle Inspections. New business is handled by our dedicated sales team, so you can concentrate on strengthening partnerships, protecting retention and creating sustainable account growth.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Vehicle Inspections and Mediation colleagues to deliver positive outcomes for dealers. This role will suit someone who enjoys building relationships, negotiating with confidence, spotting commercial opportunities and working independently in a fast-paced field environment.

Key Responsibilities

Build, retain and grow a portfolio of dealer accounts to deliver against monthly retention targets and support sustainable revenue

Develop trusted, long-term dealer relationships through responsive service and support that strengthens customer satisfaction

Identify relevant upsell and cross-sell opportunities to increase Average Transaction Value (ATV) and help dealers gain more value from AA Cars products and services

Negotiate contract renewals, pricing and expanded stock listings to protect partnerships while creating commercial growth

Spot account risks early and resolve issues proactively to reduce dealer attrition and maintain agreed service standards

Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Vehicle Inspections and Mediation teams to coordinate effective outcomes for dealer partners

Manage your portfolio commercially and represent The AA with professionalism and integrity, balancing revenue opportunities with long-term customer relationships

What Do I Need?

You’ll Bring

Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and develop trusted, long-term partnerships

Confident negotiation skills, with experience influencing outcomes, identifying commercial opportunities and closing deals

A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across teams and engage a range of stakeholders

A customer-focused and commercially aware approach, with sound judgement and proactive problem-solving skills

Clear verbal and written communication, alongside resilience, self-motivation and confidence handling objections and challenges

Strong organisation and time management, with the flexibility to travel across the South East and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
