Automation Engineer - SASE

• 12-Month Contract
• Fully Remote - UK
• Outside IR35 £500-£525 per day

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a long-term programme focused on automating and improving enterprise SASE and network security environments.

This is a 12-month, fully remote contract offering £500-£525 per day Outside IR35.

The ideal candidate will come from a strong network security / SASE background and have hands-on experience building automation around security platforms, infrastructure and APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation solutions across enterprise SASE and network security environments
• Automate configuration, deployment and operational processes using Python
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Develop integrations using REST APIs
• Automate security and networking workflows across cloud and SASE platforms
• Work closely with network, security and engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation
• Improve repeatability, scalability and reliability across security infrastructure
• Support automated provisioning, configuration management and platform integrations
• Troubleshoot automation scripts, API integrations and infrastructure deployments

Key Skills

• Strong hands-on Python development and scripting experience
• Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• Experience building and integrating REST APIs
• Strong background within SASE, network security or secure networking
• Experience automating enterprise networking or cybersecurity environments
• Good understanding of networking concepts including routing, firewalls, VPNs and secure connectivity
• Experience working within cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Highly Desirable

• Experience with Palo Alto Networks
• Hands-on experience with Prisma Access
• Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks APIs and automation capabilities
• Experience with Ansible
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab, GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP
• Experience working within large enterprise security environments
