About the role
The Greenfield, IN site is hiring a Finishing Business Unit Manager. In this role, you will direct multiple shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role requires continuous coordination of production-related activities, workforce planning, employee relations, and effective communication in order to meet production, quality, and cost objectives, leading the day-to-day Coating/Finishing operations. As a member of the Plant Leadership Team, you will act as a mentor and coach for front line supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
This is an on-site position located in Greenfield, IN.
Lead, coordinate, and assist in day-to-day operations ensuring effective communication, establishing annual manufacturing budgets, and analyzing cost variances to put corrective action plans in place.
Manage Shift Managers across Coating, Finishing, Shipping, and Material Handling in the implementation and administration of company policies, participating in plant leadership team meetings to align goals.
Support the development and implementation of Safety, Quality, Service, Productivity, Cost, and Continuous Improvement/ELS initiatives.
Mentor and coach direct reports, promote collaborative workforce relationships, and support performance management, SMART objective setting, and employee development.
Act as safety champion by providing leadership through modeling appropriate behavior, conducting accident investigations, and supporting return-to-work restrictions in coordination with Occupational Health.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
6+ years of Operations/Manufacturing experience with 3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
Demonstrated successful experience in leading and managing individuals and teams in a team-based organization.
Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow, and improvement strategies (e.g., ELS, continuous flow, cellular) with the ability to integrate them into operations.
Demonstrated understanding of financial systems, key drivers within the manufacturing environment, and strong organizational skills in strategy, communication at all levels, and execution.
