Sr. Linux & Windows System Admin with Security Clearance

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Linux & Windows System Administrator to support a mission-driven organization within the government contracting and cybersecurity industry. The Sr. Linux & Windows System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining secure, compliant, and highly available enterprise environments while supporting critical infrastructure, security monitoring, and vulnerability management initiatives. The Sr. Linux & Windows System Administrator role is a long term open ended contract opportunity and requires you to work onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD.

An active TS/SCI with FSPG is required for this role. Responsibilities of the Sr.

Linux & Windows System Administrator: • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux and Windows server environments. • Monitor system performance, availability, and security across multiple environments. • Support IT security compliance initiatives and ensure systems adhere to organizational and regulatory standards. • Utilize Splunk for log aggregation, monitoring, analysis, and security event investigations. • Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation activities using Nessus and related security tools. • Implement system patches, upgrades, and configuration changes while minimizing operational impact. • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to improve system security posture. • Develop and maintain technical documentation, configurations, and standard operating procedures. • Participate in troubleshooting efforts for hardware, software, network, and infrastructure issues.

Requirements of the Sr.

Linux & Windows System Administrator: • Minimum 10 years of System Administration experience supporting enterprise environments. • Strong experience administering both Linux and Windows operating systems. • Hands-on experience with IT security compliance, auditing, and cybersecurity best practices. • Experience utilizing Splunk and/or Nessus for security monitoring and vulnerability management. • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) required. • Security+ CE or higher certification required. • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Experience supporting secure, mission-critical environments is highly preferred.

Compensation for the Sr. Linux & Windows System Administrator: • Salary range: $140,000 - $200,000 • Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
