Senior Network Engineer

Location:
On-Site at Customer Location (Annapolis Junction, MD)

Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Poly

Are you ready to take your network engineering expertise to the next level and support mission-critical operations? BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team and assist in meeting the needs of our government customers. In this role, you'll work onsite at the assigned customer location, ensuring optimized network performance, security, and reliability. What you will do

  • Monitor & Optimize Networks: Oversee the customer's Risk Management Framework and related networks to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Support System Upgrades: Patch, upgrade, and migrate Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls to maintain network integrity and performance.
  • Contribute to Agile Development: Participate in agile activities, including release planning, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to incorporate lessons learned into engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with Developers: Work closely with developers throughout the application development lifecycle to build features that deliver value to our customers.


What you need to have

  • Experience: Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience, including a minimum of 3 years as a Network Engineer (within the last 3 years).
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly (required).
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Advanced expertise in Linux and Windows environments, with extensive system administration skills to manage complex network infrastructures.
  • Certifications:
    • CCNA or CCNP certification (required).
    • Security+ certification (required).

What we'd like you to have

  • Experience patching and upgrading Linux servers and networking resources.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible or Salt scripts.
  • Experience with AWS cloud environments and virtual machines (VMs).
