Job Description

BIM Engineer

Overview: Create BIM models for various electrical construction projects to assist prefabrication and construction

processes.

Duties:

• Create/maintain detailed 3D models utilizing Revit for electrical construction projects with project leadership.

• Create/detail shop drawings and enlarged plans.

• Create installation details for prefabrication and construction.

• Interact with general contractors and subcontractors to coordinate 3D models and mitigate clashes.

• Attend and participate in design/coordination meetings as well as internal meetings with project team.

• Understand and follow established standards/procedures for deliverables.

• Create and organize files such as: DWG, RVT, PDF, NWC, etc.

• Be familiar with project site conditions – visit project sites as needed to ensure accuracy and timely submissions.

• Ensure that the data inputted into the model is correct, consistent, and regularly updated to reflect any changes.

• Ensure that the 3D model complies with local standards, regulations, and project specifications.

• Create, maintain, and coordinate project record (as-built) drawings for submission at project completion.

• Coordinate with field personnel/supervision to provide the needed support; provide necessary field documentation

and instructions.

• Provide guidance to other team members, helping them learn how to use BIM software and understand VDC

processes as needed.

• Prepare and host various internal meetings for each project.

• Provide directions for tasks to be performed by team members and/or 3rd party services.

• Participate in pull planning the BIM schedule and construction schedule with each project team.

• Assist with tracking alternative work directives (internal or external).

The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed

position.

• Self-motivated and proactive.

• Understand standard drafting & 3D modeling procedures and processes.

• Proficiency with software utilized within the VDC and prefabrication operations to include Microsoft 360 platform,

Autodesk products, Bluebeam, etc.

• Familiarity with electrical equipment, material, drawings, and specifications.

• Works well with others.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Problem-solving mindset with focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

• Accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to receive constructive feedback from all team members.

• A willingness to learn, embrace, and build a lean culture.

• Certain job sites/customers may require successful background checks.

• Familiarity with creation/manipulation of Revit families.
