Job Description

QA AUTOMATION ENGINEER

Introduction

This position involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications. The QA Automation Engineer will work with various automation tools and programming languages to create scalable automation frameworks and execute different types of tests. Collaboration with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers is essential to identify and resolve quality issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and/or API applications.
  • Create and maintain scalable automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar.
  • Develop and execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end test cases.
  • Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
  • Analyze requirements and prepare comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain test data, test environments, and automation documentation.
  • Analyze test execution results and provide clear reports on product quality and test coverage.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Continuously improve automation coverage, test efficiency, and overall QA processes.

Requirements

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent automation tools.
  • Experience with API testing and REST/HTTP concepts.
  • Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and software testing methodologies.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD tools.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database testing.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized test environments.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
  • Experience with mobile automation using Appium.
  • Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
  • Experience with test reporting and quality metrics.
  • Knowledge of security testing concepts is a plus.
