Production Forklift Operator

Location: 18 ½ Mile Road, between Mound Road and Van Dyke Avenue, Sterling Heights, MI 48314
Starting Pay: $17.50 per hour

Available Shifts & Pay Rates

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | $17.50/hour
• 2nd Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM | $18.25/hour (includes a $0.75/hour shift premium)
• 3rd Shift: 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM | $19.00/hour (includes a $1.50/hour shift premium)

Schedules may include weekends and overtime depending on production needs.

In this role, you will play an important part in supporting daily production operations by safely transporting materials, keeping production lines supplied, and moving finished products to designated staging and storage areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility.
• Supply production lines with necessary materials to maintain consistent workflow and minimize delays.
• Load, unload, transport, and stage materials in designated production and storage areas.
• Remove completed products from production lines and deliver them to assigned staging or storage locations.
• Verify material identification, quantities, and proper placement as needed.
• Follow production schedules and established material handling procedures.
• Perform routine forklift inspections and promptly report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Follow company policies, forklift operating procedures, workplace safety guidelines, and applicable OSHA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production personnel, and fellow team members.
• Assist with additional production and material handling duties as assigned.

• Previous forklift operating experience preferred.

• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of surrounding equipment, personnel, and potential hazards.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends based on production requirements.
• Commitment to following workplace safety standards and proper forklift operating procedures.
• Must successfully pass a national background check as a condition of employment.

Work Schedule

Candidates may be considered for one of the following shifts:

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
• 2nd Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
• 3rd Shift: 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM.

Weekend work and overtime may be required depending on production schedules and operational demands.

Compensation & Benefits

• 1st Shift Starting Rate: $17.50 per hour.
• 2nd Shift Starting Rate: $18.25 per hour, including a $0.75/hour shift premium.
• 3rd Shift Starting Rate: $19.00 per hour, including a $1.50/hour shift premium.
• Employment Status: Full-time, union position.
• Paid Time Off (PTO): Available after 90 days of employment.

This position is based in an active manufacturing and production facility. Employees will work around industrial machinery, production materials, and moving forklifts. Candidates must be comfortable working in an industrial setting while consistently following established safety procedures and company guidelines.
