Job Title: Project Manager - Healthcare IT / EHR

Location: REMOTE

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, procurement, and implementation of an enterprise Electronic Health Record (EHR) solution supporting rural and community healthcare providers.

The Project Manager will be responsible for requirements gathering, healthcare IT landscape assessments, workflow analysis, gap assessments, vendor coordination, procurement support, and end-to-end implementation management.

The successful candidate will collaborate with healthcare providers, technology vendors, technical teams, business stakeholders, and program leadership to ensure successful delivery of the EHR solution while meeting applicable healthcare regulations, security requirements, and interoperability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, requirements gathering, implementation, and delivery activities for enterprise EHR solutions.
  • Conduct healthcare IT landscape assessments, workflow reviews, current-state assessments, and gap analyses.
  • Support EHR procurement activities, including vendor evaluation, selection, contracting, and implementation planning.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, action items, and change requests.
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor contractual commitments, timelines, deliverables, and performance.
  • Coordinate complex, multi-vendor and multi-stakeholder healthcare IT initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication between healthcare providers, vendors, technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Provide project-level expertise related to enterprise healthcare software implementation.
  • Coordinate EHR integration with health information exchanges, health plans, reporting platforms, clinical systems, and other healthcare applications.
  • Ensure implementation activities align with HIPAA, healthcare privacy and security requirements, clinical data standards, interoperability standards, and applicable reporting requirements.
  • Track implementation outcomes, performance measures, milestones, and project success criteria.
  • Prepare project status reports, presentations, meeting materials, requirements documentation, and stakeholder communications.
  • Identify project risks and issues and coordinate appropriate mitigation and resolution strategies.
  • Support change management, implementation readiness, testing, training, and organizational adoption activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing EHR implementation, migration, conversion, optimization, or integration projects.
  • Strong experience managing enterprise software implementation projects, preferably within healthcare or health IT environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare IT, clinical workflows, healthcare data standards, interoperability, and system integration.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, healthcare data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience coordinating multiple vendors and large groups of technical, clinical, business, and organizational stakeholders.
  • Strong requirements gathering, project planning, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
  • Experience with project management methodologies, frameworks, and project management tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting healthcare organizations, rural healthcare providers, community health programs, or public-sector healthcare initiatives.
  • Experience with EHR/EMR platforms, Health Information Exchanges (HIE), interoperability solutions, or healthcare integration projects.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and related clinical data standards.
  • Experience with healthcare technology procurement, RFPs, vendor selection, contracting, and implementation.
  • Experience working with government-funded healthcare programs or regulated environments.
  • Experience with change management, stakeholder engagement, training, testing, and implementation readiness.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, or a related discipline.
  • Significant professional experience in healthcare IT, EHR/EMR implementation, enterprise software implementation, health informatics, or technology project management.
  • Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant professional experience may be considered.
