About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager - Power Trading to drive growth in our power trading business. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electricity markets, energy regulations, and commercial negotiations, with the ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships across the power sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in power trading, renewable energy trading, and energy procurement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with power generators, DISCOMs, industrial consumers, open-access consumers, and other market participants.
  • Source and execute short-term, medium-term, and long-term power trading opportunities.
  • Analyze electricity market trends, demand-supply scenarios, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory developments.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
  • Coordinate with trading, scheduling, operations, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless transaction execution.
  • Prepare business proposals, presentations, and bids for prospective clients.
  • Monitor opportunities in power exchanges and identify profitable trading strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and company policies.
  • Achieve assigned revenue, volume, and profitability targets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • MBA (Marketing, Finance, Energy Management) preferred.
  • 3-8 years of experience in power trading, energy sales, business development, electricity markets, or related sectors.

  • Strong understanding of power markets, open access, renewable energy, and electricity regulations.
  • Excellent business development, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
