Senior IT Applications Engineer

Kaiser Permanente is hiring a Senior IT Applications Engineer to design, build, and support enterprise applications that power critical healthcare operations. You will architect scalable solutions, integrate internal and third-party systems, and resolve complex production issues. Partnering with product, clinical, and operations teams, you'll translate requirements into secure, reliable software. You'll champion best practices, lead code reviews, mentor peers, and drive continuous improvement across our application stack in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT applications supporting core business operations
• Integrate third-party and internal systems to ensure seamless data flow and reliability
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide advanced application support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security following industry best practices
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and reusable components
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tooling
