We are working exclusively with a leading international banking organisation to appoint an Operational & Technology Risk Manager into its London-based second-line Risk function.

You will provide independent oversight, challenge and support across operational, technology and information-risk matters. Working closely with stakeholders across Technology, Cyber Security, Operations, Change, Data, Compliance, Internal Audit and the wider business, you will help ensure risks are identified early, assessed appropriately, escalated where necessary and managed within the organisation's risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Provide credible, independent 2nd Line of Defence oversight and challenge across operational, technology and information-risk matters.

• Lead and support risk assessments, RCSAs, thematic reviews, control assessments and deep dives across key operations, technology and business-risk areas.

• Review and challenge risk acceptances, policy exceptions, waivers, issues and action plans, ensuring remediation activity is proportionate, timely and sustainable.

• Support the development and enhancement of risk appetite measures, KRIs, control indicators, management information and senior governance reporting.

• Produce clear and concise risk opinions, reports and governance papers for senior management, risk committees and relevant decision-making forums.

About you

This role will suit an experienced operational-risk, technology-risk, information-risk or risk-and-controls professional who is looking to take the next step in a visible Second Line role.

You will bring:

• Demonstrable 2LoD experience gained within banking or a highly regulated financial-services environment.

• A strong grounding in operational risk, enterprise risk, non-financial risk or risk and controls, alongside clear exposure to technology, cyber, data, information security, digital, resilience, change or third-party risk.

• Experience of RCSA, risk assessments, risk/control frameworks, issues and remediation, risk reporting, governance and control-effectiveness activity.

• The ability to interpret complex technology and operational-risk issues and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical senior stakeholders.

• Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills, with the confidence to provide effective, constructive challenge.
