M365 Monitoring Architect
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina / Pennington, NJ / Jacksonville, FL / Addison, TX (Partial Remote)
Role Overview
This position focuses on the architecture and governance of Microsoft 365 operational, configuration, telemetry, and usage data. The architect will define how data is collected, integrated, monitored, stored, and consumed across various platforms. The objective is to create a centralized data repository and design the monitoring and alerting strategy for Microsoft 365 workloads, including Teams and OneDrive.
Key Responsibilities

• Define and architect enterprise monitoring, telemetry, and configuration management strategies for Microsoft 365 workloads.
• Design how data is collected, integrated, stored, and consumed across monitoring and analytics platforms.
• Establish a centralized data model for configuration and usage data.
• Architect solutions that detect configuration drift and trigger alerts.
• Evaluate and integrate data from platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, and Power BI.
• Design API integrations and data flows between platforms.
• Architect logging, auditing, and observability solutions.
• Support ITIL-aligned configuration and performance management processes.
• Partner with internal teams to drive the adoption of architectural standards.
• Provide hands-on technical validation and engineering support in lab environments.

Required Qualifications

• Architect-level experience designing enterprise-scale solutions.
• A strong background in Microsoft 365.
• Configuration Management experience, which is tool agnostic.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms, particularly Splunk.
• Understanding of telemetry, audit logging, and operational data.
• Experience designing API integrations and data flows.
• Ability to perform hands-on technical work in non-production environments.
• Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments.
• Communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and gain buy-in across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel or Power BI.
• Knowledge of ITIL or Configuration Management Database (CMDB) concepts.
• Experience with enterprise logging and observability architecture.
• Familiarity with governance, compliance, and operational monitoring frameworks.

Work Environment
The role is part of a team of approximately 15 architects. It is a collaborative environment with interaction across infrastructure, operations, monitoring, security, and M365 teams.
