Location: Joint Base Andrews, Prince George’s County, Maryland

Position Summary

1 Resource Group Staffing is seeking experienced Concrete Finishers for a construction project located at Joint Base Andrews in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for placing, finishing, repairing, and maintaining concrete surfaces in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. Candidates must have hands-on commercial or industrial concrete experience, a strong understanding of finishing techniques, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in an active construction environment.

Because this project is located on a U.S. military installation, candidates must be able to satisfy all site-access and security requirements required for entry to Joint Base Andrews.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set forms and prepare areas for concrete placement.
  • Place, spread, level, and finish freshly poured concrete.
  • Use hand and power tools including floats, trowels, screeds, edgers, grinders, and finishing equipment.
  • Perform hand finishing and power trowel finishing as required.
  • Create smooth, broom, or other specified concrete finishes.
  • Install and finish concrete slabs, pads, sidewalks, curbs, foundations, and other concrete structures as assigned.
  • Establish proper grades, elevations, slopes, and drainage requirements.
  • Form and finish edges, joints, corners, and penetrations.
  • Repair cracks, damaged areas, and imperfections in existing concrete.
  • Apply curing compounds, sealants, and other concrete treatments when required.
  • Read and follow construction drawings, specifications, measurements, and layout information.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Follow all project-specific safety procedures and federal installation requirements.
  • Work cooperatively with laborers, equipment operators, supervisors, and other trades to maintain project schedules.
  • Perform additional construction-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of concrete finishing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial, industrial, civil, or government construction projects.
  • Skilled in screeding, floating, edging, troweling, broom finishing, and concrete repair.
  • Ability to use hand and power finishing tools safely.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and understand basic construction measurements and elevations.
  • Knowledge of concrete placement, curing, finishing, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be dependable and able to report to work according to the project schedule.
  • Must be able to comply with all Joint Base Andrews site-access requirements.
  • Must be able to comply with project-required background screening, drug testing, safety training, and identification requirements, if applicable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and work from a kneeling position for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the scheduled shift.
  • Ability to work around construction equipment, concrete trucks, pumps, and active construction operations.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Safety Requirements

Employees are expected to follow all 1 Resource Group Staffing, client, project, and Joint Base Andrews safety requirements. Required PPE may include a hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection.

Work Environment

This position is primarily performed outdoors on an active construction site. Employees may be exposed to heat, cold, rain, dust, noise, wet concrete, construction equipment, and changing jobsite conditions.

Pay is $29.65 + $11.88 Prevailing Wage

Per Diem for travelers is $155.00 daily
