FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Project Manager to strengthen their delivery team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of major civil engineering and water infrastructure projects, taking ownership from contract award through to successful client handover.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager or Project Director, you will be accountable for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of major civil engineering, water, utilities and infrastructure projects.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client and stakeholder relationships, oversee programme and commercial performance, administer NEC contracts and ensure the highest standards of health and safety, quality and environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of major projects, develop high-performing teams and build strong, long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Project Manager Responsibilities:- Lead project delivery to achieve safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives.
- Manage NEC contracts, including contract administration, change control, risk and opportunity management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners and key stakeholders.
- Lead project planning, resource management and overall delivery performance.
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with company and legislative requirements.
- Develop, mentor and support project teams, encouraging high performance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure robust project governance, reporting and controls are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in accordance with specifications, programme and budget requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and implementation of project execution plans, construction plans and method statements.
- Ensure suitably trained personnel are available and fully aware of their responsibilities.
- Proactively manage commercial performance, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting.
- Manage project risks, opportunities and issues effectively.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and long-term client relationships.
- Ensure quality, health, safety and environmental policies and targets are consistently achieved.
- Support procurement, supply chain management and commercial negotiations.
- Drive continuous improvement and professional development within the project team.
- Significant experience managing complex, multidisciplinary civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience delivering projects within the water or wastewater industry.
- Strong understanding and experience of NEC contracts, including contract administration and negotiation.
- Experience managing project risk, opportunities, change and commercial performance.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project and delivery teams.
- Strong client, stakeholder and supply chain management skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in construction, civil engineering or a related discipline.
- SMSTS and IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Construction qualification.
- Experience working in accordance with CDM regulations and construction health and safety standards.
- Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, governance, budgeting and cost control.
- Willingness to travel between office and site locations as required.
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- PMQ or equivalent project management qualification.
- Chartered or working towards professional accreditation.
- Chartered membership of an engineering, commercial or construction institution.
- NEC Project Manager Accreditation.
- Formal NEC training or accreditation.
- Experience delivering water or wastewater treatment facilities.
- Experience in digital project delivery and solutions development.
- Experience in procurement, negotiation and supply chain management.
