The Role • Operate specialized heavy equipment, including hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, to move shipping containers. • Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks efficiently and safely. • Position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard using hostlers. • Conduct pre- and post-use inspections of equipment to ensure safety and operational readiness. • Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate container movements and daily tasks. • Maintain a high standard of safety by adhering to established protocols and procedures. What You'll Need • A valid driver's license is required for this position. • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. • Strong commitment to safety protocols and a keen attention to detail. • Basic communication skills for effective teamwork and coordination. • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, and holidays. • Ability to climb ladders and stairs and lift up to 50lbs.
