Job description

Hybrid at least 4 days per week at Livermore, CA.
12 month contract to hire the candidate after 12 months

Cloud engineer with exposure to AWS AI services including AWS Sagemaker, AWS bedrock, AWS agentcore etc

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Manage and support enterprise cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments.

  • Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Python, Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

  • Deploy and manage cloud-based AI/ML services, including AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Azure AI, Google Vertex AI, and vector databases.

  • Design and optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability, high availability, performance, and cost efficiency.

  • Manage cloud networking, IAM, Service Control Policies (SCPs), monitoring, and troubleshooting of complex infrastructure issues.

  • Implement secure cloud solutions in compliance with DOE/NNSA security requirements, NIST guidelines, and FedRAMP standards.

  • Support cloud migration, hybrid cloud integration, and on-premises connectivity, including air-gapped environments.

  • Monitor cloud resources, analyze logs and metrics, resolve incidents, and maintain technical documentation.

  • Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and IT teams to deliver secure and reliable cloud solutions.

  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship on cloud engineering best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced AWS certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional.

  • Strong experience with enterprise cloud architecture, cloud automation, AI/ML services, and federal security compliance.
