Caregiver – Beechhurst, NY

A family in Beechhurst, NY 11357 is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and reliable caregiver to support a senior gentleman living with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. The primary goal of this role is to assist with his morning routine, provide safe transportation to and from his local Senior Day Program, and help him get settled back home.

Schedule:

• Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
• Preferred Split Schedule: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Alternative Schedule: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Morning Routine: Assist with getting ready for the day, prepare a healthy breakfast, assist with dressing appropriately for the weather, and drive/drop off at the Senior Day Center by 10:00 AM.
• Afternoon Routine: Pick up from the Senior Day Center at 3:00 PM, safely transport home, assist with getting settled, and provide engaging companionship, simple activities, or basic afternoon meal prep.

Requirements:

• Proven experience caring for seniors with Alzheimer's/Dementia or cognitive decline
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle for transport
• Physical ability to navigate stairs (apartment building has steps)
• Strong reliability and punctuality for program drop-offs and pick-ups

Compensation:

• $30.00 – $32.00 per hour (based on experience)
