A bit about your role

This leadership role is responsible for driving the engineering, integration, automation and continuous improvement of nbn's cyber security capabilities while enabling the practical adoption of AI across the Security function. Leading a growing team of engineers, the role partners with stakeholders across Security to modernise platforms, streamline operations, enhance cloud and on-premises security capabilities, and deliver scalable AI-driven solutions. Combining strategic leadership with hands on technical expertise, the successful candidate will help shape security and AI roadmaps, uplift team capability, foster collaboration, and deliver measurable improvements in security effectiveness, operational resilience, and business outcomes.

A bit about you

The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of cyber security engineering, automation, and emerging AI expertise, with experience leading complex technology initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments. They will have hands on knowledge of security platforms, automation tools, AI/ML technologies, Large Language Models (LLMs), and agent based frameworks, coupled with the ability to design scalable solutions that improve operational effectiveness. Success in this role requires strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills, sound judgement in navigating ambiguity, and the ability to lead, prioritise and deliver outcomes in complex, multi stakeholder environments. A collaborative and adaptable leader, the successful candidate will be committed to continuous improvement, capability uplift, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and high performing culture.
