Chicago, IL

Hybrid Role (approximately 1 day/week onsite)

$40 - $50 per hour (Contract, Full-time, 40 hours/week)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented IT Procurement Analyst to support the daily procurement, asset management, and expense management activities within a global IT organization. This contract, full-time role is based in Chicago, IL, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring approximately one day per week onsite. The IT Procurement Analyst will collaborate closely with IT, Accounting, and internal business teams to ensure technology purchases, invoices, orders, assets, and related expenses are accurately processed and tracked throughout their lifecycle. This is a hands-on, operational role focused on process execution and asset tracking, rather than technical support or contract negotiation. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting IT procurement, purchasing, IT asset management, inventory management, or technology expense management, and will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, controlling technology spend, and supporting process improvements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Support day-to-day IT procurement activities for hardware, software, devices, services, and other technology purchases
  • Process purchase requests, requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and related procurement documentation
  • Place and track technology orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
  • Follow up with vendors and internal teams regarding outstanding orders, invoices, payments, and delivery status
  • Partner with Accounting and internal stakeholders to research and resolve invoice, PO, receiving, and payment discrepancies
  • Monitor and manage a centralized procurement request queue/inbox, ensuring requests and follow-ups are addressed appropriately
  • Maintain accurate IT asset and inventory records, including device information, serial numbers, assignment, location, status, and lifecycle updates
  • Support receiving, deployment, return, replacement, repair, warranty, and decommissioning processes from an asset-tracking perspective
  • Assist with device and technology expense management, helping the organization understand what devices/assets it has, where they are located or assigned, and what associated costs are being incurred
  • Review asset, inventory, usage, and expense information to identify discrepancies, unused assets/services, unnecessary spend, or areas where costs may be increasing
  • Help reconcile technology assets and inventory against invoices, expenses, and internal records to ensure the organization is not paying for devices or services that are no longer needed or in use
  • Support mobile/wireless asset and expense tracking as needed, including maintaining visibility into corporate devices, associated usage, and expenses
  • Maintain and update information within procurement, ITSM, asset management, and financial systems
  • Assist with procurement process documentation, reporting, and ongoing process improvements
  • Support additional contract, renewal, and budget administration activities as needed
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 2+ years of experience in IT/technology procurement, purchasing, IT asset management, technology operations, or a closely related function
  • Hands-on experience with procurement processes (purchase requests, requisitions, purchase orders, invoicing, order tracking, receiving, and/or vendor follow-up)
  • Experience tracking IT assets, hardware, devices, inventory, or other technology equipment throughout its lifecycle
  • Understanding of the relationship between asset/inventory data and technology expenses, with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate records
  • Experience working within procurement, ERP, ITSM, asset management, inventory, or financial systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests, priorities, and follow-ups simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate procurement and asset records
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with IT, Accounting/Finance, internal business teams, and external suppliers
  • Preferred: Experience with device expense management, wireless/telecom expense management, or technology expense management
  • Preferred: Experience tracking corporate mobile devices, laptops, tablets, wireless assets, or other end-user technology
  • Preferred: Experience reviewing device inventory, usage, invoices, and expenses to identify unused assets/services or unnecessary spend
  • Preferred: Experience with platforms such as Freshservice, ServiceNow, Coupa, SAP, Oracle, or comparable procurement/ITSM/ERP systems
  • Preferred: Experience supporting procurement or IT operations within a large corporate, professional services, or legal environment
