Rack Technician

Key Points

  • Location: Hatfield, AL10 (Full-time onsite)
  • Contract Length: 3 months rolling
  • Rate: UMB £18.53 p/h, Inside IR35

Overview

We are seeking hardworking and reliable Rack Technicians to join a busy Technical Services team supporting customer deployments within a technical integration environment.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding role focused on building, preparing and integrating IT equipment for customer solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing equipment into racks, fitting cabling, applying labels, moving hardware and preparing complete customer racks for shipment.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who enjoy practical work, take pride in delivering high-quality installations and can work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting operational deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rack and stack Servers, storage systems and network equipment.
  • Install, route and secure cabling.
  • Apply asset and customer-specific labels accurately.
  • Perform basic equipment checks and functionality testing.
  • Record installation and asset information as required.
  • Move, position and secure equipment safely using approved handling methods.
  • Build and prepare complete customer racks for shipment.
  • Load integrated racks into transport crates and flight cases.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Work to customer deadlines and operational targets.
  • Follow all health and safety and manual handling procedures.
  • Support team activities and changing business priorities as required.
