Operations Analyst - Commodities

A commodities focused Alternative Investment fund is looking to hire an Operations Analyst to join their business. Ideal opportunity for an Operations professional with a couple of years’ experience looking to join a vibrant work environment.

Candidates should have strong Python coding skills alongside proficiency in SQL.

As the successful candidate develops, the role will increasingly focus on process automation, systems development and operational improvement, with routine duties moving into a backup or supervisory capacity to support the firm’s scalability.

This role is full time, 5-days a week, in the office.

Duties & Experience required include:

1. 2+ years Operations experience, ideally within a Commodities focused business.
2. Prepare timely, accurate daily risk reports covering P&L, VaR and risk exposure
3. Reconcile internal position and P&L reports against external sources, resolving discrepancies with clients and clearers
4. Monitor positions against limits, liaising with traders and escalating to senior management where needed
5. Maintain trade analysis tools, including the in-house trade and price curves database (MySQL, Python)
6. Support development and maintenance of the firm's in-house Trading & Risk Management system
7. Prepare periodic reports and investment commentary for clients and senior management
