Job Description

Mechanical Designer (SMR) | Camden, NJ, United States | Hybrid

The Role

  • Model and create detailed drawings of components and structures for a novel nuclear power plant.
  • Execute design activities including CAD, design for manufacturability, and technical documentation.
  • Prepare and rigorously review engineering models and drawings to support analysis and licensing.
  • Develop concept designs from broad requirements into mature, detailed designs through research and collaboration.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to refine designs.
  • Support the preparation of design deliverables, presentations, and communicate progress to stakeholders.

What You'll Need

  • Associate degree in Drafting and Design, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, or a closely related field; or 2+ years of a BS in Engineering completed.
  • Proven working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design or a related field.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a track record of producing error-free technical documents.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated good judgment, flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work independently.
