Network Engineer – Fortinet Specialist

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with strong Fortinet expertise to design, implement, configure, and support enterprise network and security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, VPNs, routing, switching, and network security.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure and security solutions.
• Deploy, configure, and manage Fortinet FortiGate firewalls in high-availability and enterprise environments.
• Manage FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for centralized firewall management, logging, monitoring, and reporting.
• Configure and troubleshoot IPSec and SSL VPNs, firewall policies, NAT, security profiles, and access controls.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and static routing.
• Work with LAN/WAN, VLANs, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network segmentation.
• Monitor network performance, security events, and connectivity issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Implement firewall upgrades, migrations, policy changes, and network security improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex network and firewall issues across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Support network security initiatives including intrusion prevention, web filtering, application control, and threat protection.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams on network-related projects.
• Participate in incident response, change management, and production support activities.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls.
• Experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.
• Strong knowledge of firewall policies, NAT, VPN, routing, and network security.
• Experience with IPSec VPN and SSL VPN.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, LAN/WAN, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with BGP, OSPF, and static routing.
• Network troubleshooting using tools such as packet capture, ping, traceroute, and log analysis.
• Experience with enterprise networking and security infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of network security concepts and best practices.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Fortinet certifications such as FCP/FortiGate or NSE-level certifications.
• Experience with FortiSwitch and FortiAP.
• Exposure to cloud networking in AWS or Azure.
• Experience with network monitoring and automation tools.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or other enterprise networking technologies.
• Experience supporting high-availability and large-scale production environments.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field preferred.
