Job Description

The Geoprobe® Assembly Technician works with a team to assemble technical drilling equipment for the following industries: environmental, geotechnical, water well, and geothermal. Assembly Technicians use detailed schematics to assemble complex machines - this is not an assembly line. Physical demands of the job include prolonged periods of standing, walking, climbing, and bending over machinery. Successful candidates will be highly mechanical with strong hands-on and problem-solving skills, committed to high-quality work, comfortable working with a team, and driven to finish tasks on time.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Build components and assemble drilling machines from start to finish. 
  • Apply knowledge of hydraulic systems, power trains, and DC electrical systems to assemble machinery, systems, and equipment according to specifications and blueprints. 
  • Conduct detailed quality inspections on assembled parts and systems to ensure they meet the required standards.  
  • Work closely with other team members, openly sharing knowledge and contributing to the team's collective success. 
  • Complete start up process and test machine to confirm functionality and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement – for the team, employee, company, or customer. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Mechanical aptitude 
  • Able to read and understand schematics 
  • Proficient with hand tools 
  • Basic PC knowledge (ability to operate a keyboard and basic navigation between screens within an application) 
  • Farm work experience and/or heavy equipment use is helpful but not required
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
